New reports and reporting features are now available to Rentec Direct clients who use the property management software for managing their rental properties. Updates to the reports and reporting features include a visual overhaul, speed improvements, and new options to automatically send reports to owners and managers.
The reports and reporting features in Rentec Direct have been remodeled and now provide you with an easy to use interface, advanced filtering and search functions, and the ability to automatically send reports to owners and managers.
The updates to the reporting features provide you with options to quickly access your favorite reports, expedite reporting tasks, efficiently analyze information, and automatically share reports.
The newly remodeled reports include:
- Visual remodel of the user interface (UI)
- Changes to the reports to make them easier to read and feature a consistent design
- Options to automatically send reports with the Scheduled Reports feature
Enable the New Reports Feature in Rentec Direct
You can access the new reports interface by activating the feature in your account. This feature update is completely free to you and you’ll be able to switch back to the old reports interface if you wish.
In your Rentec Direct account:
- Click on Reports
- At the top of your Reports page click on “NEW | Remodeled Reports and New Reporting Features – Try it Now!”
- This gives you access to the remodeled reports and reporting features
Note: If you want to revert your account to the legacy reporting system, you will be able to find the option to “Return to the old reports” at the bottom of all remodeled reports.
The new reports and reporting features are a Rentec Labs product. A feature included in Rentec Labs has already gone through rigorous internal testing; however, since it is a big new feature it may have had limited testing outside of our offices. Once the feature has been in use externally for some time with no issues, it will leave Rentec Labs.

Updates to the Reports User Interface (UI)
- All reports are now accessible and searchable from a single page.
- Your most frequently used reports can be favorited for quick access
- Each report now shows only the applicable form fields for a simpler and more intuitive UI.
- Every report configuration now has a unique URL. So you can use the browser back-and-forth buttons. You can bookmark reports to save yourself the trouble of reconfiguring the options the same way over and over. And you can share report URLs with your users.
- Each report in the menu is a link, so you can middle-click to open reports in new tabs
Updates to the Reports in Rentec Direct
- All reports have a consistent style
- Larger font sizes, increased spacing, and improved layouts for easier reading
- Links everywhere! Spend less time hunting down the same information in other parts of the software. Click a property, bank account, or category to go directly to its ledger. Click a transaction amount to view that transaction. And that’s just the beginning. Any information that makes sense as a link is now a link.
- More reports than ever are now sortable, and many reports can be sorted by multiple columns.
Scheduled Reports – New Feature
The New Scheduled Reports feature in Rentec Direct allows you to schedule reports that will be automatically sent to property owners and managers. Scheduled reports can be delivered on a weekly or monthly basis with up-to-date information.
With the scheduled reports, you can create a list of favorite reports that you frequently use, send reports immediately, and schedule reports for future disbursement. Copies of these reports will automatically be saved for your convenience.
With the Schedule Reports feature, you will:
- Save time manually running and emailing reports to every owner or manager. Instead, create a scheduled report that runs automatically on a monthly or weekly basis.
- Stay in compliance with contracts and regulations
- Keep your property owners and managers up to date with important information
- Keep copies of reports that have been emailed in your file library and messaging history
