New Feature | Instantly Add Multiple Rental Applicants as Tenants

September 8, 2023

Rentec Direct provides you with great features for marketing vacant rental properties and collecting rental applications online. And, once approved, you can quickly add a rental applicant as a tenant to your software, eliminating the need to manually enter any tenant data.

This new feature gives you the ability to group multiple rental applicants together and add them grouped with just one click, saving you even more time. Prior to this update, only the primary applicant’s information was automatically added.

Add Grouped Tenants from a Rental Application with Multiple Applicants

When approving multiple applicants from the same application, the software provides you with the following options:

Add & Move in Applicant: This option will add the applicants and place them in the property they applied for, grouping them together as they appear on the application. Applicant #1 will become the main tenant associated with the accounting ledger and the other applicants will be added as co-tenants.

Add as Grouped Tenants (Inactive): This option will add the applicants to your tenant list grouped together as they appear on the application. Applicant #1 will become the main tenant associated with the accounting ledger and the other applicants grouped as co-tenants. These new tenants can then be placed in the preferred property as an existing tenant.

Add as Separated Tenants (Inactive): This option will add the applicants as individuals and will not be grouped together. They can be placed in the property/properties you choose as existing tenants, grouped or individually.

Tenant Lead Tracking

As you continue to use the online rental application features in your Rentec Direct account, you might be interested in utilizing the tenant lead tracking tools as well.

Property managers and landlords are often contacted by potential renters with inquiries about available properties. When an inquiry comes in but you don’t have a current property available, the inquiring prospect becomes known as a tenant lead. Rentec Direct offers you convenient options to track these tenant leads in your software so you can follow up with them when a suitable property becomes available. This feature goes beyond traditional tenant lead tracking systems and automatically matches a prospective tenant to your available properties based on their interests or rental preferences.
