Did you miss this feature when it was released? Learn the valuable benefits of the Automated Report Scheduling feature and how to use it in your Rentec Direct property management software. This feature allows landlords and property managers to schedule recurring reports to be emailed out automatically on a specific day of the week or month.

Automated Scheduled Reports

If you are one of the many property managers or landlords required to send out reports such as owner statements, work order status, rent roll, and more on a regular basis, or even if you share reports as a courtesy, this is a feature you don’t want to miss. Released at the end of last year, if you happened to miss this automated scheduled reports feature, there’s no doubt it can help shave time off of your routine.

Scheduling reports can help you stay in compliance with the requirements of providing reports automatically and remove one more item from your to-do list.

How to use the report scheduling feature

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Reports
  2. Click on the NEW Try our remodeled reports link
  3. Click on the star next to the report you would like to schedule

    Note: When you click on the star, the report will be added to your favorites at the top of the screen. To remove a report from the list, simply click on the star again.

  4. Click on the report under Favorites
  5. Enter the Report Period for the report you would like to create


    1. The Report Period will automatically update each frequency
    2. Pressing ctrl+/ allows you to toggle between the report being created and the list of reports
  6. Indicate Bank Account, Owner, or Property
  7. Submit to create a report

    Note: When reviewing the report, clickable fields such as the category and dollar amount allow you to access the transaction and make any needed adjustments or memos.
  8. Click on the email envelope 
  9. Click Schedule Report
    1. Indicate the frequency (Monthly or Weekly)
    2. If Monthly is selected, using the dropdown, select the day of the month reports are to be sent
    3. If Weekly is selected, using the dropdown, select the day of the week the reports are to be sent
  10. Click on Recipients to view a list of options and select recipients to be included
  11. If you would like to receive an emailed copy of the report, check the Include myself box
  12. Enter a subject and message
  13. Click on Schedule Emails to confirm the emails are to be sent on your indicated schedule
  14. If you would like to send the report now and on a schedule moving forward check Send Now
  15. Click on Send, Schedule Emails to send the report now and enable the scheduled reports moving forward

Viewing Previously Sent Reports

When reports are delivered using the automated feature, a copy of the report will be preserved in the file library of your Rentec Direct account and owner’s.

The following steps will walk you through accessing the stored reports.

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Settings
  2. Under Tools click on File Library

To view reports stored in an owner file library:

  1. Click on Owners
  2. Right-click on the desired owner and click on File Library

Edit or Delete Scheduled Reports

The following steps will walk you through editing the parameters or deleting a scheduled report.

In your Rentec direct account:

  1. Click on Reports
  2. Click on Scheduled Reports
    1. To delete a report, click on the little garbage can to the right of the report
    2. To edit a report, click on the paper/pencil icon to the right of the report
  3. Make changes as needed
  4. Click on Save Changes
